Bahasa Inggris Bisnis 1 - Contoh Kop Surat











  1. Letterhead : is the very top of a letter or called the letterhead. Contains company’s address, company’s telephone number, company’s e-mail, company’s website address logo.  
  2. Date : Contains date, month, and year when the letter is written. usually located on the upper right, but there is also placing it on the top left. For your writing style can be divided into two styles of writing, namely:
  • British English : On British English  it has the same style in writing dates in the Indonesian, which write the date first, then the month and year. The position of the date can be placed below the author information in the letter or the top left corner.
Example: 9rd October 2012.
  • British American : Writing of the date first written is the month, the date, and the year he wrote the letter. writing positions can be placed in the upper left corner.
Example: October 9rd, 2012 
3. Inside Address is the address of the destination, who received either a letter or information from the recipients in the form of an address, postal code and street.
     Example ;
Dr. Calvin Carson Cross
Country Coach
Dept. of Athletics
Colorado Community College at Cripple Creek
Cripple Creek CO 80678 4.
                  Position in the letter has placed on the body of letter. 
             4. Subject: This is a subject that became the reason for letter writer to the recipients.
             5. Salution is greeting to begin writing a letter, to write the foreword usually use the word "dear", after that person's name in the heading. If the letter is addressed to people we know in writing the name of the format used "Ms, Miss, Mrs, Mr, Dr" if the people we don’t know we can be to use "Dear".  
     Example :
  • Dear Madam (Female Recipent)
  • Dear sir/Dear Sirs (Male Recipent)
  • Dear Sir or Madam (unknown receiver gender)
#British Style
The british style are not authorized to use any punction in writeng greeting, only use punction commas.
Example :
  • Dear Mr Kurt
  • Dear Mr Kurt,
#American Style
In the American style, using punctuation "colon"
Example :
  • Dear Mr.Kurt: 
      6. Body of the letter is the contents of the letter directly to the subject matter to be discussed, the contents of the letter, the contents of the letter is a discussion about the purpose and reason why the letter is written.



         7. Complementary Close : "Yours faithfully" is a word commonly used in this section, the word is only used if the greeting using "Sir" or "Madam" and do not use the name of the recipient. If you use the name, uses the word "Yours sincerely". It's tradition, at the end of words covered by a comma, but now it is allowed to omit a comma. In the American style, the use of the word "yours" are common. words such as "Sincerely yours" or "Sincerely" is often used. In British Style, "Yours sincerely" or "Yours faithfully" is often used, the shape is a shortened form of "I am yours sincerely".

      8. Signature is a signature of a person who made the letter positioned at the bottom right, it can also be positioned in the bottom left after writing.



        9.  Enclosure ; Located on the bottom  left. Used If you include additional documents sent along with the letter, also known as Annex 1.

        10. P.S (Postscript) is a brief note, written when ending a letter. placed in the bottom left, before the CC. It is advisable to avoid postscript on Business English letter
  

               11. CC (courtesy copies) Previous carbon copies (carbon copy). Is a copy of the list to whom the author distributes letters, sorted according to the alphabetical order.
